Listings Junkie is a free, human-moderated directory of businesses in the United States. Listings are written by the businesses themselves, reviews by the public, and articles by our team and guest writers. This Disclaimer explains what that information is, what it is not, and the limits of what we can stand behind. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.
1. General Information
Everything on Listings Junkie is published for general information. Listings describe a business the way its owner describes it. Reviews describe one person's experience. Articles share practical guidance for small businesses. None of it is a contract, a promise or professional advice, and nothing on the site should be relied on as a substitute for checking with the business, or with a qualified professional, yourself.
2. Accuracy of Listings
What we check, and what we do not.
- We confirm the business email before a listing is published, and a person reads every listing and every change to it
- We check that the business appears to be real, that the category fits and that the listing follows our community standards
- We do not visit premises, confirm licenses, insurance or bonding, verify pricing, or audit any claim a business makes about itself
Details change. Phone numbers, hours, addresses, services and ownership can all be out of date by the time you read them, and a listing is only as current as the last update its owner made. Confirm anything important with the business directly before you rely on it, travel to it or pay for anything.
If you find a listing that is wrong, closed or not a real business, use the Report flag at the top of its page or the contact page. A person reads every report.
3. No Endorsement
A listing in the directory is not a recommendation. Neither is a featured placement on the home page, a mention in an article, a high rating, or a link from one of our pages. We list businesses; we do not vouch for them.
Listing is free and placement is never sold. Featured businesses are chosen by our team from the directory, and no business is ranked above another because it paid for a marketing service or anything else. A business that buys marketing services from us gets exactly the same listing as one that does not.
4. Reviews
Reviews reflect the opinions of the people who wrote them, not the views of Listings Junkie. Before a review appears we confirm the reviewer's email and check it against our rules, and we remove reviews that are fake, abusive, or written by the business itself or a competitor. We do not verify that a purchase took place, and we cannot guarantee that every review is accurate, fair or still true.
A business cannot pay to have a review removed or hidden, and we do not edit the substance of what a reviewer wrote. Where a review breaks the rules, it comes down for everyone; where it does not, it stays.
5. Articles & Guest Posts
Articles on the blog are general information written for small business owners. Guest posts are written by outside contributors; the views in them are the author's own, and the author is responsible for their accuracy. We review every guest post before publishing it and may edit for clarity, length and formatting, but we do not independently verify every claim.
Links inside an article are there because the author found them useful, not because we endorse the site or product behind them. Guest posts are free to publish, so no article on the site is a paid advertisement.
6. Not Professional Advice
Articles and listings touching on marketing, search engines, law, tax, finance, insurance, construction, health or any other regulated field are general information. They are not legal, financial, medical or other professional advice, they may not apply to your situation, and reading them does not create a professional relationship with anyone. Consult a qualified professional about your own circumstances.
For registered business entities, filing and compliance questions, the U.S. Small Business Administration is the official starting point.
7. Dealing With Listed Businesses
Any contact, quote, contract, purchase or dispute between you and a listed business is between you and that business. Listings Junkie is not a party to it, does not take payment on a business's behalf, does not mediate disputes, and is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality or delivery of anything a listed business offers.
Before you hire or buy, do the ordinary checks. Ask for the license and insurance your state requires for the trade, get the estimate in writing, and be careful with deposits. A directory listing on its own is never enough to go on.
8. External Links
Listings link to business websites and social profiles, and articles link to outside resources. Those sites belong to other people. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, security or privacy practices, and following a link is at your own risk.
9. Availability, Errors & Changes
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not promise either. The site may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control, and it may contain typographical errors, outdated information or mistakes, which we correct as we find them. We may change, suspend or remove any part of the site, and any listing, review or article, at any time and without notice.
10. Marketing Services
The digital marketing services we offer are provided under their own written agreement. Search engines, advertising platforms and customers are not under our control, so we do not guarantee a particular ranking, number of leads, revenue or other result, and any figures on the services page describe past work, not a promise about yours.
11. Limitation of Liability
Your use of the directory is at your own risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, Listings Junkie L.L.C. and the people who run it are not liable for any loss or damage arising from information on the site, from a business you found here, from a review or article, or from a site we link to. The Terms & Conditions set this out in full and take precedence if the two differ.
12. Reporting a Problem
Every listing page has a Report flag in its top corner for anything wrong, out of date, fake or against the rules. Reviews, articles and anything else can be reported through the contact page. A person on our U.S. team reads every report, we may correct or take down the content while we look into it, and we reply if we need more from you.
13. Changes to This Disclaimer
We update this Disclaimer when the site changes and update the date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept it.
