Business Listing FAQs
Everything about listing your business on the directory
Yes. Listing a business on Listings Junkie is free. There is no subscription, no listing fee and no credit card step. Paid marketing services are a separate option for businesses that want more help.
Listings Junkie L.L.C. is a U.S.-based company registered in Nebraska, owned and run by a U.S. team. The directory lists businesses operating in the United States, and every listing is checked by a person on that team.
Adding a business takes three steps:
- Create a free account from Create Account. We email you a sign-in link instead of asking for a password, and it keeps you signed in for 30 days. If a listing already carries your email, it appears in your account as soon as you sign in.
- Open Add Business and fill in the details.
- Confirm the business email from the link we send, and our team reviews the listing.
A complete listing includes:
- Business name and description
- Street address, city, state and ZIP
- Phone number and business email
- Website URL, if you have one
- Business category
- A logo
The more complete the listing, the better it reads for customers and for search engines.
Once you confirm the business email, a member of our team checks the listing. Most are approved within one business day, and you get an email the moment it goes live.
We send a confirmation link to the business email you enter. Any email address works, whether it is on your company's domain or a Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo account. Once you click the link, a member of our team reviews the listing before it goes live. That one step keeps out the fake and duplicate listings that clutter other directories.
You can add more than one business under one account. If you own several businesses or locations, create a separate listing for each. Each one is verified and reviewed on its own.
Categories cover the common business types:
- Home Services (plumbers, electricians, cleaners, contractors)
- Health & Medical (clinics, dentists, hospitals, physiotherapy)
- Food & Restaurants (restaurants, cafes, bakeries, fast food)
- Business & Professional Services (lawyers, agencies, consultants)
- Shopping & Retail, Beauty & Personal Care, Automotive and more
See the full list on the Categories page. If yours is missing, contact us and we will add it.
Yes. Customers can rate and review your business from its listing page. Every review is confirmed by email and checked by our team before it appears, so what you see is from real people.
No. A business can be listed with just its name, address, phone number and category. Adding a website is strongly recommended, because it gives customers somewhere to go next and gives your site a trusted link.
Yes. Upload a logo (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 2 MB) when you add or edit the listing. Listings with a logo stand out in category and state pages.
Yes. The whole site is built mobile-first, so your listing looks right and works the same on phones, tablets and desktops.
Yes. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and YouTube links can be added to a listing and are shown on its page.
Yes. Plumbers, cleaners, consultants, mobile mechanics and other service-area businesses are welcome. Use the city and state you serve; the street address is optional for a service-area business.
There is no strict limit. We recommend 100 to 300 words that describe your services, your area and what makes you different. Avoid keyword stuffing; it reads badly and does not help.
No. An approved listing stays live as long as the account stays in good standing and the information stays accurate. We may ask you to confirm details if something looks out of date.

SEO & Visibility FAQs
How to get found online and rank higher on Google
A verified listing gives your business another consistent citation (name, address, phone) and a link from a directory Google already crawls. Citations and links from relevant directories are a long-standing local ranking signal.
Your listing page is part of the sitemap we send to Google, so it is usually crawled and indexed within days to a few weeks. A complete listing with a description, logo and website helps it rank for your business name.
NAP stands for Name, Address and Phone number. Consistency means those three details are written exactly the same way on your website, your Google Business Profile and every directory. Mismatches make search engines less confident about which details are right.
- Fill in every field, including the website and logo
- Write a specific description that names your services and your area
- Collect confirmed customer reviews
- Keep the phone number and address current
Yes. A published article gives you a relevant link to your website, a byline that builds authority in your niche, and a page that can bring search traffic of its own.
Local SEO is the work of showing up for nearby searches like "plumber near me" or "best dentist in Austin". Accurate listings, a well-managed Google Business Profile, reviews and a fast website are the core of it.
Very. Google weighs the number, quality and recency of reviews when ranking local businesses, and customers read them before they call. Ask happy customers for a review and reply to every one.
Write the way a customer would search:
- Your city or area ("roof repair in Tulsa")
- The service, in plain words ("emergency plumber", "family dentist")
- What sets you apart ("same-day service", "licensed and insured")
Use them naturally in sentences; a list of keywords is removed during review.
A link from a reputable directory is one more signal that your website is legitimate. It also sends referral visitors who were already looking for your type of business.
SEO is a long game. Many businesses see movement in local visibility within four to twelve weeks of cleaning up their listings, depending on competition and how complete the rest of their presence is.
Yes, as long as the details match everywhere. Each reputable directory adds a citation and often a link. Keep a master copy of your NAP and use it word for word.
A citation is any online mention of your business name, address and phone number, with or without a link. Search engines use citations to verify a business exists and where it operates.
Yes. Beyond the link itself, it lets customers go straight from the listing to your site, and it helps Google connect the listing to the right business.
One complete listing per business location. Multiple thin or duplicate listings for the same business confuse customers and search engines, and duplicates are removed during review.
